As with all my demonstrations in watercolour I start off with a rough sketch
of the figure and not putting in any detail, just
concentrating
on big shapes and the thing is with sketching in before using watercolour is
that you get an idea of what you are going to do when you start using
watercolour. This is really just a sketchy watercolour, I couldn't see
details and it was a bad photograph I painted from not that I would have put
all details in anyway.
I
start with her hair which is a pure burnt sienna.
While
the hair is still wet I work into it with burnt sienna and ultramarine blue
for the darks, I work into the face using cadmium red and a touch of
cerulean blue just to take the edge of the red. I paint in this colour
generally over the face
I
carry on down the arm and this colour will dry a lot lighter here.
Here
I work into the background using the colour to shape the hand and also work
some of this colour into the hand.
I
work into the breast and torso leaving a light border for the arm.
Email
me even if its just for a chat I reply to you within the hour.
