A
ten minute bold sketch of flowers in watercolour and the photo on the left is
what I'm painting from so a bit of creativity here may be needed.

I first draw out or rather sketch out the main flowers
which are the crimson/red center flower and the surrounding white flowers.

I carry on sketching the white flowers taking careful note of there shapes
and put in some leaves, I don't necessarily stick to what I am seeing here
from the photograph so I might put some more leaves in other places to help the composition.

All the drawing in has been done and nothing is drawn in great detail, I set out to do a 10 minute sketch here so I'm sticking to this time
limit because it helps you to get things down quicker and to observe.

I start to paint in the center of the main flower where there is a light
yellow/green tint and I let this dry.

A mix of alizarin crimson, cadmium red and a touch of ultramarine blue was
used for the central flower I painted in the middle tones leaving little
touches of white paper to show for highlights.
