Sketching a racing car with felt pens and as usual I start off using
pencil
to draw out the car and always starting from the left so I can rest my
hand on clear white paper without smudging the drawing.

It is important to get the wheel shapes right and in perspective
along with the rest of the shapes, always think shapes and its relative
parts.

Starting to sketch now with cheap felt pens which I bought for £3.99
for 40 pens at a market, there cheap and you are limited with the
colours you have but they served a purpose here.

Notice the way I have used my pen strokes in a vertical direction
following the form of the cars surface. If I had drawn horizontal
strokes here the car would look a bit on the flat side.
I
drew the inside of the car a cool blue and the darks of the tyres go in.

A bit fiddly here putting in the detail of the wheels but I don't
spend too much time on them, it's only a sketch.
