Shading and form and here a little shading has been added in certain areas
and all the features and form have been a bit more accurately described albeit roughly. The directional arrow on the right is to remind me which way the light is coming from and here it is coming from above and from the right.
Shading has been added to the lips and form to the hair has been added by using directional strokes of the pencil. The discs of the eyes have been shaded in for now.
More darker shading has been added to the hair and now I am concentrating on the eyes drawing them in more fully and using a putty rubber to bring out the middle tones.
More shading and form has been added all over the face area and good observation is needed to see form in the face so a good book on anatomy is recommended. The bottom of the nose has been tidied up a little and highlights to the eyes have been picked out with a putty rubber.
Darker form is added to the hair following the form of it with my pencil strokes so if the hair strands are going from left to right I follow this with my pencil.
Here is the finished portrait sketch of a young girl and all that has been done here is the refining of all areas but I have still kept the sketch rather loose and sketchy. I hope you have enjoyed this girl in pencil demonstration
