Photograph into a drawing and the closer you take a photo of someone the more detail we see, for instance in the pupil of the eye, teeth etc, so if you can send a photograph that has been taken quite close up at around one or two feet away (30cm - 60 cm) and at a high resolution (More Pixels) the more detail I will see and the better your portrait will be.
In this example the photograph has been taken from too far away so I cant see much detail in the face, I could still do a portrait from this but it wouldn't have the detail that the photograph below shows and which would make a better portrait.
This photograph was taken closer to us and would make an excellent portrait, see how small the eyes are in the photograph above to this one, the closer you take a photograph the more detail we see and thus a better portrait. When you click this picture you will see that it fits nicely onto the page and is an appropriate size but if you can send us a photograph twice as big that would be even better.
