Painting simple clouds is quite straight forward, here I show you the
simplest
way to paint them. With an ultramarine and a touch of alizarin crimson
I paint in the sky using broad strokes
Once you get to the tops of the clouds try to paint around the cloud shapes
and always observing there shapes.
While the blue paint is still wet rinse your brush and give it a little
shake and soften the areas of blue and pull some of the blue into the
white clouds.
With a mixture of ultramarine blue a small touch of alizarin and yellow
ochre work this in underneath the clouds with broad horizontal strokes
representing
the shadow areas under the clouds.
More of this shadow colour is added at the bottom of the clouds.
The finished sky with basic simple cloud shapes.
