Painting simple trees and here I start on the tree at the left of the
mill
made up of ultramarine blue and burnt umber and using plenty of water I
paint straight over the building.

The darker colour of the same colour I used for the tree was used wet
in wet adding dark shapes in the tree.

Darker reflections are added to the water using downward vertical
strokes.

Darker strokes are added to the left side of the chimney because the
light is coming from the right and above.

Dark lines are added to both sides of the bank in the foreground and
this gives a feeling of more distance.

The finished painting which took around 30 minutes and shows a simple
watercolour scene.
