More detail is added in painting the jewellery with pure white over the darker blues I painted in earlier and it is pointless here to try and put in every little detail of the earrings because on the photo I couldn't really see that much detail so they are just suggested here.
Her dress has now been roughly painted in and notice how the brown of the paper shows through here and this is fine it was just what I wanted here.
In this third stage of the portrait it is good to stand back a couple of metres away and to look at your work, you can often see how well or how bad you are doing and you can see proportions better.
More work has been added to the forehead and cheeks and I am now concentrating on detail like underneath the eyes and the forms there.

Here I am suggesting her necklace and first painting it in with a medium blue just to get the form of it right and so that it looks as though it is draped around her neck.
