Painting an eye in pastel and a simple oval shape is all that is needed here, its like a tear drop shape on its side.

The lens of the eye is a perfect round shape and here the lens is looking slightly to the left. The whites of the eyeball is painted in with a grey colour.
The lens is painted in using a sap green and then laid over with a light
burnt umber. A dark burnt umber is used for the eyelid.

White is added to the left side of the eyeball because this part is in light. The dark pupil is laid in and a lighter sap green is added for the reflections in the eye
lens.

The highlight is added
with almost pure white.

Here the camera highlight is added underneath the main highlight and usually I wouldn't add this highlight but I show it here so you can see that just one simple highlight is all that is needed in a an eye.
