Painting in middle tones and lights now starting with the whites of the clouds and by starting off with the highlights, here you can blend in the middle tones at the same time. No fan blending brush is used because I find that they make a painting too soft and blended, blending by just using colour painted on with a normal brush is better.

Lights are painted into the bushes and trees in the middle distance with stronger lights in the foreground trees.

Distant walls are painted into the distant hill to the left of castle hill using a small sable brush.

The lights are painted in on the tree trunks in the foreground and the light is coming from the right and above so the left side of the trunks are in shadow and at the same time throws shadows onto the foreground field.

The finished painting and the shadow side of the foreground trees have been made darker to bring them out a little more to achieve distance. I hope you have enjoyed this demonstration.
