Male painting in one colour | |||
You can now see how the darker blue I  painted
in has bled into the underlying colour down the center of the back. All
the paint has dried now so I paint in darker colours over the top of the
underlying colour.
Basically I'm painting over what I have already painted in here.
You can see that most areas have been blended in here.
In the example above you can see where I put in the shadow of the shoulder blade and
in this example it is softened somewhat, I've also softening the left side
where the buttocks turn away from us to give this area more volume.
Although a lot of softening has happened here I paint in and leave some harder edges here and there, see how many hard edges you can spot inside the figures outline.
