Here I carry on in these lessons in portraiture and the left shoulder has been added with the same basic colour I used for the basic flesh tones and then I painted over it with a grey to make it recede. Colours of yellow ochre
and burnt umber have been added and over these colours light flecks of light blue have been painted in to suggest the light hitting the hair.
More ochre has been painted into the hair and at this stage subtle highlights of a light cerulean blue have painted onto the forehead, cheek and just under the crease of the left cheek. The eyes have been more refined and the pupils have been added.
Light hair strands where the light is hitting the hair have been painted in and the eyes have been more defined although they seem to be standing out too much here and don't seem lined up correctly I will rectify this later.
Under the eyes has been made darker so now they don't seem to stand out as much, an highlight has been added to the nose bringing this out to us more and a little more work has been done on the mouth area.
The finished portrait and all areas have been refined more and generally cleaned up, the sash I added was in the photograph and I didn't know whether to add it or not, I decided that I would because the colour of it relates to the hair and it fills up the light area of her chest.
