John Wayne painted in pastel

More definition has taken place here all over the portrait and everything has been painted in more thoroughly, the ear and scarf have been painted in quite boldly.

 

The warm brown reds of the scarf have now been painted over with a dark cerulean blue so these areas go back and recede a little. Notice the background colour of the example above to this one, it just shows that different weather outside can change from one minute to the next and here is nothing to do with the camera that took this photo.
