How to draw with pencil

How to draw with pencil and although nobody can tell you how How to draw with pencilto draw you can learn a lot through reading and by example. If you have the inclination to pick up a pencil and doodle with it or you have seen drawings in books and would How to draw with pencillike to do something similar then you are half way there. If you are looking for an hobby or something to do then drawing can be a very enjoyable experience, you don't need a lot of money or a load of materials, all you need is a pencil and paper.

How to draw with pencilThe most commonest of implements to draw with is the humble pencil which is great for detailed work and for sketching. You can get a good variety of tones, lines and textures and by using the pencil on its side you can make broader areas of tone, using the point of the pencil you can draw thin lines and fine detail.

How to draw with pencilYou will see numbers on most pencils like HB, 2B, 4B, 6B and upwards these are known as soft pencils, the letter B meaning soft with B being the least softest and 6B and up to10B being the softest. There are other numbers and letters like H, 2H, 4H, 6H and upwards, these pencils are hard pencils where H is the least hardest and 9H and upwards being the hardest. An HB pencil is in between hard and soft and is used generally. The B and H pencils both give a different stroke, the B pencils give a softer stroke but also a darker stroke, the harder H pencils give a harder line but a more lighter line.
