How to draw a nose all the information you will need in how to draw a nose

How to draw a noseIn how to draw a nose we first draw in two curved lines at each side of the nose where the bony protuberances are and also to keep in mind the spacing between these two lines because if you don't get this spacing right the nose can look wider or too thin for the person you are drawing. We then draw in an oval shape at the bottom of these two lines because if you look at any nose this area seems to fit into a nice oval shape.

How to draw a nose

We need to look carefully here because on each side of the nose there are subtle tones of shade that indicate the bones of each side of the nose. The front plain of the nose ( The nose tip) is lighter because this is closer to us and again there are subtle tones here which makes this nose different from any other person's. You can now see the tones that we were talking about in the above example and they will be even more subtle tones when we have finished. We now put in the nostrils into this oval shape and more observation is needed here because they are not perfectly round, both nostrils are different in size and shape and one can be higher than the other as in this example.

We draw in more shade at the sides of the nose and also start to draw in some form and shade to the front plane of the nose. We also draw in shade in the nostrils and around the bottom rim of the nose and leaving white paper showing for the highlight on the tip of the nose ( Front plane).

Drawing in everything a little bit darker now and going over the shading we have already drawn in and we have also drawn in the darker shapes inside the nostrils, look very carefully here the dark areas are very intricate little shapes. We have also darkened both sides of the nose and drawn in a bit more form on the front plane being very careful not to touch the white paper for the highlight.

How to draw a noseEverything is blocked in even more darker now leaving the white paper for the highlight at the end of the nose and putting in more darker darks inside the nostrils. We have put in dark lines on each side of the bulbous sides of the nose where they meet the cheek and these lines run all the way around underneath the nose. Notice that the lines or creases of each side of the nose are not identical as with the nostrils, good observation is needed here.
