Girl drawn in pencil and here's a photograph of a young girl that I am going to sketch and this will only be a sketch not a finished drawing as such. When I talk of a finished drawing I mean a drawing that is carefully drawn line by line.
Just a note about getting angles correct, here I am using the pencil held out horizontally at both inner corners to find the angle of the eyes and there is a slight tilt to the left here.
Find the angle of the mouth by holding the pencil horizontally at each corner of the mouth and the same can be done with the nose.
Here I drew an oval shape for the head and drew a curving line from the top of this oval shape through the nose area, the little crevice on the top lip and through the centre part of the chin. Angled lines have been added for the eyes, nose and mouth.
Oval shapes have been made for the eye sockets drawing from the boney part of the eyebrow going round to the top of the cheek area. Oval shapes have also been added to the bottom of the nose and mouth just to indicate these areas. Basic eye shapes have been drawn in and the angle of the nose has been added and finding this angle by holding the pencil up vertically.
You can find alignments of features by holding the pencil vertically and here I am seeing how far off the right edge of the nose is from the left corner of the right eye.
