Drawing a car in charcoal and first I started off sketching the car in
pencil and
trying to capture the structure which is the most important element in the
artists palette, without structure your art will fall down like a chair with
no legs.
The
spare wheel at the side of the car goes in and only with practice can you
draw a wheel in perspective so observation is needed here.
As you can see everything is sketched, it would be no good sketching in
detail when we're drawing over the sketch in charcoal.
The rear wheel goes in and again perspective from the rear wheel to the
front one is very important.
Here is the front of the car and everything looks in alignment although
the bottom number plate to the higher number plate doesn't look right
somehow but I can assure you they are in the correct places.
Here I'm concentrating on getting this wheel correct in perspective,
don't forget we are looking at this wheel from an angle so the wheel will be
foreshortened somewhat.
