Details of oil painting and here I've decided that in the foreground I'm going to paint in the back of  people's heads so you get the feeling that they are watching the fight and that you are also there watching the fight. I'm also trying to add a variety of brushstrokes to keep the foreground lively.
Here is the finished painting and I hope you can feel the atmosphere, notice the lively brushstrokes in the background and a suggestion of peoples heads adding to the action.
Detail of cooper and the quick deft brushstrokes I think add to the action between the boxers. if I were to smooth the painting out so all the colours merge and are softened the painting would lose that vitality.
