Colours and Contrast with paint

The eyeballs have been painted in using the same colours I have been using all along burnt umber and then painted over with cerulean blue to bring out the richness of his skin tones. A pastel pencil is used to draw in the eyelids.

More middle toned colours are added especially on the lips and a highlight added to the nose and cheek. The ear was painted in broadly with a warm cadmium red colour for now.

The jacket shirt and tie have had colours painted in them keeping the colours bright as with all other colours.

 

More blending has taken place all over the portrait and the glasses are now a bit more defined.

More colour and tone is added to the jacket, shirt and tie and now the teeth are emerging and it is best to keep everything going at once rather than finishing one area and moving on to the next.
