Choosing a domain name
for your website,
once you have your completed website with all the bells and whistles you then need what is called a domain name which is a
name for your website. Whatever you are trying to sell on your website, say art, then you need this word in your domain name like art.com but you will find that this word may have already been taken by someone else.
To show you this I am using 123 reg hosting company as an example so click 123 reg
which takes you to there homepage and once there type into the search
box the word art.
don't forget to hit the back button in your browser to return back here.
A long list will come up with all the available domain names with the word art
in them and you will see that art.com has been taken. A lot of other domains with the word art in them have also been taken.
If you scroll further down you will see some suggested domains like easyart.com. bigart.com etc or you can create a new word yourself and type it in to see if that
word is available.
Try to be more specific with your domain name, say if you do pencil art
or painting art or some other, try typing this in. What you are after is your own personal domain name with something in that name that you know people will use when they type it into a search engine.
(For my domain name I used picturedraw because I draw pictures for people), next you need somewhere to put your website
which is an hosting company. Often you can choose a domain name and a hosting
company with the same company so please read on......
