Building a website for beginners

Building a website for beginners and yes I get the question: how do you earn a living from your art and website and how did you start up, I started very small at first Building a website for beginnersfrom putting up posters in local shops to showing my pictures in local art galleries. If you want to earn a living from your art then a website is a must but I must warn you that it is very competitive, here is an example: You are an artist right! lets say that you draw portraits of people, now if for instance you typed this word into Google's search engine you will see how many WebPages come up with this word, where it says results you will see how many WebPages relate to this keyword. Don't forget to come back here to learn more.....

Building a website for beginnersHi, you came back, yes there are 45,500,000 WebPages for that word, that's an awful lot of WebPages, other artists are doing exactly the same as what you want to do. Do another search say, for pencil portraits and see how many webpages come up for that word, yes its a lot lower only 388,000 but that is still a lot of WebPages and artists to compete with. So if you still want to start a website and knowing that it is very competitive then first you have to buy yourself some website software to make your site. There are loads on the market but the two leading contenders are Dreamweaver and Frontpage 3000. I cant give you a tutorial on these programs because obviously it would take a website to show it all to you but it isn't that hard and a lot of it is automatically done for you.

The other part of making a website is writing or typing text and to write webpage text needs quite a bit of learning to do it right, but properly done it is well worth it. Then there is your artwork that you want to show and this obviously needs to be good or you have no chance (Sorry to be blunt) but your living depends on good artwork, even I'm still learning! Once you have your webpage made then you will need a name for it...choosing a domain name...
