An artists painting studio should be functional, everything should be at
hand, pencils, pastels, oils, watercolours, mediums and brushes should
all be where you want them to be, you don't want
to
be looking for them. Roger says I'm really not organised and I've stuff all over the place in my studio but I know where everything
is. Some artists are very organized and they'll have there pastels in
neat little boxes or trays, mine are just thrown about on the table that
I work on but I bet you I can find the pastel that I need just as quick
as anyone who has them in boxed trays, it is how you want your studio to
work and what best suits you.
Here's
Roger working on one of his computers in his studio and he also does a lot of his
computer work in his other office in the living room where it's a bit
more cosier. Away from drawing and painting Roger also likes to relax
and play the classical guitar and tries to get an hour of practice in
each day as a break from his artwork. Art shouldn't be a chore he says,
I really enjoy drawing and painting but now and again its good to have a
break and to do something else that you enjoy rather than stuck in the
studio all day.
One of my favourite classical guitarists is Julian bream who I really
admire, I wish I could play the classical guitar like this man
with all the emotion and feeling that he puts into his playing....just like art eh.
Email me even if its just for a chat I reply to you within the hour.
